
Minister Freddie Combs to fame for appearing in Fox’s Season 2 X factor, died on Friday, September 10, at the age of 49.
Combs is famous for receiving four examples from the judges in his audition, a stunning performance of Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings” dedicated to his wife Katrina.
According to Combs’ obituary, he died of “short-term illness” and TMZ reported kidney failure as his official cause of death.
Freddie has a wife Katrina (Kay) Combs, parents Leslie & Nancy Rife, sisters Carrie Rife, Kristina (Andrew) Boggs and cousin Colin Boggs,” the obituary reads. “Freddy spent most of his ministry preaching the gospel and singing praises to his Lord Jesus Christ. He has influenced countless lives and their ministry will continue to do so.”
In addition to the three episodes X factor Combs appeared, and he and his wife appeared on the 2010 TLC special. tone of love, he documented his struggle to lose weight.
The American version of The X Factor aired on Fox for three seasons (2011-2013). During the series, the jury was attended by Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Cheryl, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio.
